Think Table and Be Computers’ introduction to the intellectual enterprises of computer science and the art of programming for primary and secondary students alike, with or without prior programming experience. An entry-level practical course, CST teaches students how to think algorithmically and solve problems efficiently. Topics include abstraction, algorithms, data structures, resource management, software engineering, and web development. Languages include JavaScript plus SQL, CSS, and HTML. Students will also be able to upload their work on the Internet for all the glory and the whole world to see the possibilities.
Everything taught in these courses is taught in universities around the globe, including Yale and Harvard’s revered CS50 courses, an introductory computer science course teaching undergraduates how to code. We also have taken some best practices from the technology industry, taking industry advice from Google, GitHub, Kickstarter and many digital agencies around Australia and globally.
During the holidays, we offer week-long intensive courses, which allow students to spend the time to create their personal project. The project includes, but not limited to; a web development portfolio hosted on the internet, a mobile app, a Kickstarter-like web application, a Javascript game and a remote control drone project. All of this can be done in JavaScript or with the student’s language of choice.
